We are going to use Unity in my game design class which is an odd turn of events and one that I am semi-excited about. Let me explain. Unity is a game engine that a lot of large companies use to make games. We will be working with professional grade tools which is exciting, yet at the same, Unity requires a basic understanding of the coding language C Sharp. I have zero experience with coding, let alone C Sharp. Regardless of all this, I think I'd rather be using Unity because it is much more important to start learning something early and getting more experience. My overall impression of Unity is that it is more diverse and will be able to do more than Game Maker. It is more complex and expansive than what we have seen and used before. The biggest thing that sets it apart is the coding, which is also what has me worried. The easiest thing for me will probably be the implementation of assets in Unity. I'll be able to make my own assets which will be helpful and fun since I like to draw.
